Hot Chocolate – Basic Version

for 2 cups (can be halved)

4 Tbsp (1/4 cup) granulated sugar

1 Tbsp cornstarch, to thicken (optional if you don’t mind a thinner drink)

2 Tbsp cocoa powder

700 ml (24 oz/2 12-oz mugs) milk of any type or half cream/half milk

In a medium saucepan, put in all the dry ingredients. Then put in about 4 spoons of the milk into the pot to create a paste. Stir the paste over medium hot until it all ingredients are mixed and dissolved. Next add in the rest of the milk, stirring as you pour. Heat the mixture until is hot. Pour into cups of your choice and enjoy as is or add whipped cream, marshmallows, etc.
